The REAL Way Of Making Serious Money On The Internet

One of the reasons why 90% of people fail on the internet is because they expect to get rich off one product. Most people start off selling an ebook, an audio file, or an affiliate program and get paid $20 for each unit they sell.

Little do they know that how the REAL big money is made is with a line of backend products. Specifically, products that are higher end and have a price point that is a few hundred dollars.

I am sorry for bursting your bubble if you had high hopes in becoming a millionaire with one measly ebook, but it is better if you knew right now and plan for the future than being left with empty pockets and an empty bank account in the future.

Most of people assume that one ebook is going to make the rich! Unfortunately that's not the case because it's too low end of a product. For example, if you were to depend on that $20 e-book to make $100,000 per year you will need to sell 5000 e-books before realizing your lofty goals.

That's going to take some time. What most people don't realize is that they really need a higher end product to sell their list in the backend if they want to make bigger money a lot faster!

Let me drill this concept into your mind, the REAL big money is in selling high end back end products that sell for a few hundred dollars. The front end product like your ebook or audio file is just chump change! Let me clarify this for you. If you want to get to $100,000:

For a $20 product, you need to sell 5000 units For a $50 product, you need to sell 2000 units For a $100 product, you need to sell 1000 units For a $500 product, you need to sell 200 units

But if you were selling a $1000 product, you need to sell ONLY 100 units! So think about it, if you sell ONLY 100 units of a product that costs $1000 you make $100,000 and you skyrocket to the top 5% of income earners in the United States!

Plus you don't have to handle more refunds, customer service and complaints, etc that is usually comes with thousands of customers. So please, if you expect that $20 product is going to make you rich – SNAP OUT OF IT! Go find a higher end product to sell, if you want to make money the way the big boys of internet marketing do!

3 Killer List Building Techniques to Get More Subscribers Immediately

Many ezine publishers have been trying to get more opt-ins by testing many different methods, and if you are one of them just think of how many times you have to test each and every single bit of detail just to get those little results.

However, there are also some tried and tested techniques that many ezine publishers are getting proven results in getting more sign ups to their ezines. Firstly, you will need to make a few changes to your ezine to get more subscribers.

There are three techniques to get more email addresses into building your list which you can immediately apply to your online business without doing a major facelift of your website.

1) Compelling name for your ezine

For any subscriber to really get attracted to your ezine list, you will need to get their attention when they first visit your website. But to do that would be require some clever ideas from your part.

As this will require you to come up with a catchy name for your ezine so that the subscribers can easily recall your ezine without much effort to search through their past activities to see if they really do subscribed to your ezine.

For example, a catchy name which is also descriptive for a website related to building great marriages might be "Marriage Builders". At once, your subscribers will be able to understand what your ezine is all about just basing on the name alone.

So this helps your potential subscribers to understand whether the content will be relevant to their needs. In this way, your subscribers would not hesitate and sign up immediately for your ezine. Thus, you will need to come up with a catchy yet descriptive name for your ezine.

2) Show your ezine back-issues

Now you would really want to get in touch with your subscribers, so it is recommended that you show a few past issues of your ezine to your potential subscribers.

This is to show them what kind of content is really inside the ezine and they are also able to gauge whether your writing style suits them.

With a real feel of what they can expect, this will really bring up the quality of your subscribers if they are really interested in what you are providing and recognize that it is of value to them. They will definitely stay on your list for much longer.

3) Make your ezine ad standout

How to increase your subscription rate if you do any promotions of any sort? Well, all you do is to make you ezine ad standout from the rest of the ads.

Here is the part where you will really need to think of how to take advantage of where your ad will be advertised. There are many different ways to make your ad outstanding.

For example, you can always use some CAPITALIZED words to catch the attention of potential subscribers or use symbols such as these "?^&*%#$~!" to add a little creativity to answering your main benefit from your ad.

By following these three techniques, you should be able to boost your sign up rates in no time as all these have been tested by many many publishers. So try to work them into your current or new ezine that you are going to publish and I am sure you will seeing results soon.

10 Internet Business Rules to Grow Your Online Income

Here are 10 simple Internet Marketing Rules to Live by. Print them. Post them to your desk. Use them everyday.

1. Invest Small When Starting Anything New.

Always invest small when starting out. It's possible any ad you run may lose money. Always keep your risks and investment small whenever you're starting a new type of advertising. Even if you had that top level copywriter write your ad, not everything they write will be a home run. It may need a few changes to produce the results you want. The market you're advertising to may not be perfect. There is no such thing as a "Sure Thing."

2. Test Everything.

Only one expert is right, and it's not me. It's your own personal test results. Test headlines. Test the length of your ad copy. Test audio and video on your sales page. Test a squeeze page before visitors get to the sales site. Constantly run 2 ads on Adwords for every ad group. Test a "try before you buy" offer. Test telephone follow-up. Quit blindly following gurus and test everything!

3. Be Unique.

Don't ever be a me-too business. Take a look at everyone in your marketplace. What is different about you from them? Here's a quick exercise. Write down all the benefits someone gets from your product or service. Now cross off all the benefits they can also get from other people's products and services. What's left? If nothing is left, you may need to rethink or modify what you offer to provide something unique in your marketplace.

4. Target Your Ads Only to Buyers.

You've chosen your niche, but do you write your ads to all your visitors. No. You will never achieve a 100% buying rate. Much more common is 1%...and 10% is extremely high (possible at times with strong follow-up). This means at least 90% of your website visitors are NOT your target audience even though they came to your site. You're not writing to them. It doesn't matter if those people like what you write at all. You're writing only to the BUYERS...that 1 to 10% of your unique visitors who will take action.

5. Develop a Backend From the Beginning.

You should already have a basic idea or outline for your next offer before your first one is done. If your first product is an ebook or CD, what will you offer next? You may start your backend by offering joint venture deals and affiliate offers from others. The money is any business comes from repeat purchases and backend sales. In fact, I'd never want to be in any business where I HAD to make money from one product. It destroys your marketing ability. If your competitor can break even or even lose money on their advertising, how can you compete if you have to make a living off the same offer?

6. Your Network Determines Your Net Worth

First heard that expression from Mark Victor Hansen. Strategic Alliances, social networking, referrals, viral marketing, etc. are the key to building your business online. Going it alone is a recipe for failure. In most businesses, affiliates make up 50% to 75% of sales. Incoming links from other sites is the key to search engine optimization. Find ways to serve the other top players in your niche. Network. Mastermind. Grow together...even with competitors.

7. Don't Restrict Your Business to Internet Only.

You're not an Internet business. You're an Internet based business. Develop your business model with both Internet and offline strategies. Follow-up on customer by phone. Here's a quick tip - call people who just purchased from you to thank them for their order and also offer them something else at a discount price right now (I've seen people increase profits by 40% from that alone). Send direct mail to your customers. Rent a targeted mailing list and send postcards to drive people to sign-up for your list. Use offline publicity and networking to generate leads.

8. Build your Relationship with Your Lists.

Yes, I said "lists," not "list." Concentrate on educating your list members...both with good content and about your products/services. Use online follow-up methods such as email and be willing to use direct mail. Send thank you cards to JV partners and customers. Run a teleconference where you meet with your customers or prospects. Create a blog. Put a face on your company and let them get to know you as a person.

9. Focus on Your Gifts.

Focus your time and attention on what you're best at. There's dozens of ways to market your site. Concentrate on the ones that most fit with your style and skillset. If you hate writing, then don't use writing as your primary advertising method. Or hire out the writing. Figure out what skills you have...and focus on those. Outsource the rest to others. If you try to force yourself to be just like "Guru #1," it's simply going to be an exercise in frustration. You're unique. Build a unique business suited to you.

10. Plan for the Long Haul.

I'm sure you've been told about instant riches overnight. Quit trying for that. And quit trying to jump on the "new thing." Pick a business and work on it. Yes, I said work...that dirty four letter word so many people hate. Things might no go right when you first start. You might have to modify a few elements of your presentation. You might have to change your product. To be successful in this business requires you have a backbone and stick to it even when things don't go your way! Develop at least a one year plan with daily actions to push you to success. You'll make modifications along the way, but at least you have a basic roadmap of where you're going.

Google Search Engine Optimization - My Own Road Map For Internet Success

One of the most profitable marketing techniques I've used for my businesses is without any doubt search engine optimization.

Since venturing into SEO, I've encountered much success for my websites. At first when I saw the top 10 websites in Google for a popular search term in one of my markets, it was kind of dream for me. I knew what they did to get there but I knew there was hard work to be done. But certainly it was achievable.

I have to admit it was a kind of obsession to get my website in the top 10 placement because I knew once I am there I will receive targeted traffic and sales for a long time to come. That thought just keep coming in my mind.

All I know is I have to take action right now and I was also really motivated to attain my goals. I know getting search engine traffic is passive and that to profit from passive traffic, I have to start promoting my site right now or else it will take more time to get those coveted rankings.

And once I've worked on my search engine rankings, I can leave it aside and concentrate on other aspects of my business but also look for other ways to promote my business. One fundamental thing you should always remember is to FOCUS. Focus on one marketing strategy and keep at it. Give it all you can before moving on to the next one. If you try to do too many things at once, it's very difficult to find success and you will most likely fail.

The day will come when you will do a search for a keyword phrase that you have been working on and to your surprise, you'll see your site in the SERPs(Search Engine Result Pages). This will just prove that what you're doing is working. I've been there and I can tell you that you will feel proud and happy with such an accomplishment. It's an amazing feeling. It's kind of you don't believe you are really there.

If you want to achieve those top search engine rankings in Google and other major search engines, educate yourself well and learn the search engine optimization strategies and techniques that work because you won't be wasting your time and time is so precious in search engine marketing. Have a plan like what you're going to do everyday to achieve your objectives ie doing some valuable link exchanges with related and relevant websites, article writing, directory submissions, text link advertising.

Link exchanges are not useless. In the past, they were the major ways to get top rankings but now they have been a bit devalued but still they are worth getting. Why? Simply because related and relevant links will bring direct traffic to your website and will help your link popularity too. They will help you in rankings automatically but less as compared to several years ago. Well just focus in getting targeted links and you will be surprised how much traffic you can get just with links from related and relevant sites. Even if one day, reciprocal links are completely dead, those links will still be of value in terms of direct traffic. So don't get reciprocal links just for search engine ranking benefits and for a boost in link popularity. Article writing should be an ongoing process for direct traffic and automatically, it will help your link popularity. Directory submissions will give your site a solid foundation for link building and can make your site stable in the rankings. Concerning text link advertising, if you can afford it, it's worth it. Just advertise your website on relevant and related sites and if they are high traffic sites, you can get good traffic and potential business. There was a discussion about paid text links and that Google might detect those in the future and maybe devalues them and here is what I have to say.

I think this would have happened sooner or later. Google might detect paid links depending on some criteria. Suppose a website is new and is getting a bunch of high quality links eg sites with good link popularity, high PageRank, high traffic, this might raise a red flag like this site is buying links. But that as well, it can be getting good links due to article submission.

Whatever happen in the future concerning paid links, I believe if you have to do it, do so such that you are getting targeted traffic from those links and websites alone and bypassing PageRank and backlinks. But first, check that website's alexa ranking to get an idea of its traffic levels(the lower the number, usually the higher the traffic) and check its rankings for its primary keywords in the major search engines as an additional plus because you can have high traffic websites which don't depend on search engine rankings. They can depend on other traffic sources. Now if you were to check the rankings, a top 10, a top 20 and even a top 30 is worth considering. The website's homepage html title will usually contain the primary keywords. By knowing the alexa ranking and search engine rankings, this should give you an idea whether it's worth advertising or not. This alone can justify your investment.

If there is good return on investment, why bother about the search engine ranking benefits from that link. Even if you don't get any benefit, you won't care as long as you're getting business from your text link advertisement. You might need to test which sites bring you results or not. Advertise for a month with one or two good sites and see if there is any improvement in traffic and business. You can know which site brings you more traffic via your traffic logs. You will see visitors coming to your site from another website. If you're getting traffic but no business, you have to work on your conversion and tweak it. You can have different business models like selling your own products, affiliate products and generating money from AdSense for instance. Here as well, focus is important. Don't try to give too many options to your visitors or else they can get confused and leave for good. You need to test which business model is more profitable and lucrative for your Internet business. Testing is absolutely crucial in Internet marketing.

I don't think there is anything wrong if you purchase links on relevant and related sites for the purpose of advertising but if you have to do it solely for PageRank and link popularity, you might be affected if Google detects paid links in the future and devalues them. You might not get any PageRank passed to your website and your rankings might not benefit. So what's the use? You can be advertising for nothing. No traffic, no backlinks and no PageRank. You have just wasted your money. Usually when you go for PageRank and link popularity only and not focusing on the traffic rewards, you will not be too concerned about what type of sites you are advertising on whether they are related and relevant or not. You can just buy links on unrelated and irrelevant sites simply for the sake of getting PageRank and backlinks. And usually, you will go after high PageRank websites. Well this is not recommended at all. Opt for a long term strategy which can produce results time and time again not short term results.

On another note, it's important to remember that before starting a search engine promotion campaign, it's fundamental that you have already created useful, quality and original content on your site. You might need to outsource your content creation if you have problems coming up with original content. A website without useful content won't have much merit for the search engines. Search engines love content and best of all if it's original. It's also a good idea to build a solid link structure for your site.

So here you are, to get top google rankings, create your own google search engine optimization plan and have your own road map for Internet success. You'll be glad you did.

Drive Traffic to Your Site or Fall From a Great HEIGHT?

If you ask a business adviser about the best place to set up a cafe, you,d most likely be advised to buy or lease a commercial property within a busy mall or at a busy intersection. Why? It,s the foot traffic; you want many people passing or walking by your establishment. The more people who pass by, the more people will come in to try your service.

It,s not so different in the internet. If you have a virtual establishment online, then you,d better drive traffic to your site. You may make the best calligraphy work online, but if people cannot see your work to judge its merit you would be unlikely to get any customers; and people would not see your work if they cannot even find your website in the complex and gigantic labyrinth of the net. You simply cannot sell to people who are not around to appreciate what you have to offer.

The following are some of the means for driving traffic to a website.

Search Engine Optimization (S E O) People commonly use a search engine to find whatever information, product or service that they need online. These search engines keep an extensive database of websites that their spiders (or crawlers) find in the net. These sites are indexed for words (people call these keywords) and when a particular keyword is entered by a search engine user, a list containing the sites that are relevant to this keyword will be generated. People are much more likely to visit the most relevant sites, the top ten results.

To drive traffic to your website, therefore, you must make sure that your website is part of the search engines, database and that it has been properly optimized so that it can be deemed relevant to the keywords that your potential customers are likely going to use to find a company like yours.

Pay-per-Click Advertising S E O could be very tedious and it could take a very long time before its effects can be felt. To get more search engine traffic without waiting as long for results, you can try pay-per-click (P P C) advertising with search engines.

With P P C, you can associate your ad with a keyword or keywords which you have bid for, and when these keywords have been searched, your P P C ad will appear at the right of the top search engine results. Your P P C ads will give your website instant exposure and this will drive traffic to your site.

Viral Marketing Viral marketing is the equivalent of advertising by referral; that is, you should post content that would make people want to pass it on to others and inspire them to click on your link and thereby drive traffic to your site. One way of doing this is by posting ,viral, video content (videos that people can,t resist forwarding to their friends) at You Tube.

4 Ways to Create More Money In Search Engine Traffic

The primary way to increase your profit for your online business is to increase traffic to your website. But not just any traffic, you want to make sure you attract real, lucrative search engine traffic to your website in order to create more money and make more profit. Here are five ways that can help you attract lucrative search engine traffic to your website:

1 Use an SEO. An SEO is a search engine optimizer that specializes in getting your site a high as possible priority rating on search engines so that internet users who are searching for your area of business will find your site more quickly and more frequently.

2 Use Pay-per-click advertising. Pay-per-click advertising, or Ppc, can help attract lucrative search engine traffic to your website by adding advertisement banners to search engine result pages that direct people to your site. The best part of these is that you only pay them for every time someone clicks the link to be directed to your site, meaning that you only pay for real lucrative search engine traffic.

3 Self-advertise in forums. Search for discussion forums that specialize in a topic related to your specific area of expertise or business, and then get on and start posting. It is simple enough to advertise yourself by just posting some relevant information or advice, and then leaving your email address and a link to your website at the bottom of your post. You would be surprised how many people will be directed to your site from forums, especially if you post in a few dozen. You can also usually post in most forums at no cost to you.

4 Set up and maintain a Blog. Perhaps you have heard of the growing trend of internet "blogging". It essentially involves a periodical post of information related to whatever topic the Blog involves that is updated each day, week, or month. Maintaining your own Blog can increase traffic to your site, make your website more interesting, and help advertise your company and your products or services.

All these things can help greatly increase lucrative search engine traffic and make your website more profitable at a low cost to you.

Turbocharge Your Links With Killer Anchor Text

These days, everyone knows that, to get top rankings in any of the engines, your site needs links. Not just any links, but links from quality sites and lots of them. One thing I have noticed is that for many webmasters that are newer to SEO, they often over look the importance of "anchor text" or "link text" as it is often called.

If you are unfamiliar with these terms, let me give you an example below.

This is Anchor Text

In the above example, the text "This is Anchor Text" is the anchor text. Anchor text is simply the text used as the clickable portion of a link. A while back (a few years now), the engines decided that, quite often, the text used as the anchor text of a link was a description of the target page. So, knowing this, they decided to start looking at the anchor text of links to a page an incorporating what those links "said" about the page into the algorithms used to rank pages.

To this day, Google still seems to give the most weight to anchor text, but all the engines use it to some extent.

It's also important to understand that the anchor text of an inbound link (at least today) still applies to that specific PAGE, not to the entire site.

What does this mean? Well, it means that, to get the absolute most bang for your buck out of each and every link pointed to your site, you should do your best to make sure that the anchor text used for each inbound link is relevant to the page that link is pointing to. This applies not only to external links (those from a different site pointing to a page within your site), but to internal links as well (those links pointing from one page of your site to another page on your site).

Internal anchor text is an area that a VERY large percentage of webmasters don't fully take advantage of. These are the links that you have full control over, so you should do everything you can to make sure that the anchor text for each and every internal link in your site best reflects the target keywords for the page it's pointing to.

The same goes for "homepage" links. What is your homepage about? I would bet that for 99% of the people reading this article, the topic of your homepage is NOT about "homes". So why is it that the vast majority of webmasters still utilize the anchor text "home" or "homepage" etc. when linking to their homepage? Don't you think it would make more sense for the anchor text of that link to be relevant to the page it's pointing to? After all, the homepage of most sites tends to target the most competitive phrases of that market don't they? So why wouldn't you want to get the most possible use of all those internal links pointing to your homepage by using some more appropriate and relevant link text?

Quite often I have seen the proper and improper use of anchor text be the difference between which page(s) make it to the top of the results and which ones end up on pages 2 and on. Where do you want to be?

See you at the top!

Page Structure - Make It Lean N Mean

One of the least understood and utilized areas of SEO is probably page structure. Webmasters will use an editor such as Frontpage, Dreamweaver, etc. to create there pages making sure to get the right keywords in the title tags, spread throughout the pages, in links, alt tags, etc. all the while forgetting one important fact, what it looks like to the search engines.

Unfortunately, a fairly small amount of webmasters actually know how to code in HTML. They use a WYSIWYG editor (What You See Is What You Get)such as one of those mentioned above. There is nothing wrong with that, in fact, it is how I originally started. The problem is that most of these types of editors produce horrible and I mean HORRIBLE code.

This is often referred to as "code bloat" and while it isn't NECESSARILY bad, it is not good either. First, this "code bloat" increased
the overall size of each page. For some pages, this isn't a big deal, but for pages that are already fairly large in file size, this can make a big difference.

I once went through a page that was roughly 50kb in size and removed all of the offending code bloat caused by a WYSIWYG editor. Once finished, the size of the page was reduced to roughly 30kb. That means just under 50% of the pages size was extraneous code! Now, you may be asking yourself..."Self...that's a lot, but what's the big deal". Well, the issue is that at 50k, a visitor on dial-up will have to wait an average of 10-12 seconds for the page to load, while at 30k a dial-up using visitor will only have to wait 7-8 seconds for the page to fully load.

That 3-5 seconds may not seem like a lot, but it could mean the difference between the visitor staying on your site or leaving to visit a competitor.

Now, there are definitely other reasons to avoid "code bloat". That brings us to SEO. Remember, while your pages make look pretty when viewed in a browser, that is NOT how a search engine sees them. They see only HTML. Have you ever pulled up a page to look at the HTML of the page only to go "Whoa...I can't make heads or tales of this!". Well, put yourself in the place of a search engine spider.

In order to know what your site is about and to properly index AND rank your site and all it's pages, it needs to be able to properly read your pages. This means the less code the spider has to sift through to find your content, the less chances there are that something will cause them to get "tripped up".

Over the past 9 years, I have seen the search engines get MUCH better at spidering sites, but if you think it is impossible for an error on a page to cause a spider to not be able to properly index a page...think again! I've seen it happen on more than once occassion.

So...what can you do to avoid the issues associated with code bloat?

First, lean HTML! There is nothing wrong with using a WYSIWYG editor to create your pages, but you definitely want to be able to go through them and remove some of the offending code. Today's WYSIWYG editors are better, but they still have there quirks.

Second..use CSS! Learning and using CSS is probably the single best thing you can do to decrease the amount of code on your pages. I would hope you already are using CSS, but if not, it's time to learn.

Third..place all unnecessary code in external files! Does your site use javascript? Put it in an external file and call it. Same goes for CSS. You've done the work of using CSS, now put it into one file and call it instead of letting it take up space on each page.

By keeping the actual code of your pages as lean as possible, you make it that much easier for the search engines to read the actual content. This isn't an treasure hunt. We are trying to make it as easy as possible for the engines to find this treasure so stop hiding it behind piles of code!

Search Engine Optimization Tips

For websites, their ranking on the main search engines is one of the most crucially significant factors. Why this is so central is because when websites rank high on the search engines, there is a torrent of targeted web traffic from visitors, totally free, who are looking for information or products. So, it goes without saying that all those kinds of activity that might hurt a website's chance of achieving a top search engine position must be avoided at all expenses; avoiding those kinds of actions is a very important search engine optimization practise. Here are a number of issues that websites should avoid, at any cost, if they really wish to optimize their rankings with the most important search engines.

Tip #1 Don't Spam

No major search engine indexes websites for too long, if they are found to engage in spamming. What's more, from time to time, search engines refine the way they delineate "search engine spam", so it would be valuable, both as a visitor and a website administrator, to educate yourself and stay updated with the definition of spamming by the major search engines. Search engines frequently blacklist websites that spam, which means you don't get off by just not getting indexed but you might also knowledgeable get your website blacklisted forever. Just build many pages of good, valuable, non spammy content, apply the basic on-page search engine optimization techniques and you will be safe.

Tip #2 Don't Use Frames

It's a good search engine optimization habit to avoid using frames.Search engine spiders spidering the web do not react well to websites using frames and often miss many of the pages that are listed within the website.

Tip #3 Don't Have Pages Under Construction

Make sure when you submit your URL to the search engines to get indexed, that you do not have pages still under construction. Search engines as a law don't like to index pages that are yet under construction. So, always finish them before you submit your websites for indexing. Also, never use the phrase "Under Construction" on your pages that are incomplete It does not create a good impression.

Tip #4 Never use devious Tricks like hidden Text

Do not use hidden text stuffed with keywords to try and increase your SE rankings. Search engine Optimization has to be natural, don't fill your pages with keywords making them unreadable, the search engines will ban your site in no time. It may not be apparent to your visitors that you are using invisible text or keyword stuffing, but the search engine spiders will discover it easily. Play safe and fair and at all times, use natural search engine optimization, go by the rules and look for long term success.

These are just a few of the most oft-used suggestions to keep your web pages indexed by the search engines. Though, these rules are not complete. There are others that also matter a lot.

The Truth behind the Online Auction Site

If you have been online for very long you have most likely visited one of the many online auction sites that are available today. Online auction sites are responsible for introducing millions of people to the internet each and every year. There are really two main reasons for people using an online auction site – buying or selling. This article will take a peek at both sides of the online auction world.

If you are trying to get rid of your junk laying around the house you may have turned to one of the most interesting concepts in ages the online auction site concept. Online auctions are great for selling your unwanted items through the use of an online auction site such as eBay or Yahoo auctions.

There are a few tricks and tips you might use if you are trying to sell your items for the highest possible price. The first tip you need to master is by properly showing your items through pictures. You can dramatically increase your auctions effectiveness by taking clear and well thought out pictures for each item you are listing.

The next trick for selling more items in an online auction site is to use some key words in your title and description. Perhaps you are selling a diamond ring or a watch and you want to get the most value for your listing buck. The best way to do this is by adding some popular key words such as (not Rolex) to the listing title. The word Rolex will be found if someone is searching for that brand of watch. Your watch might not be the exact brand they are searching for, but the search results will still display your item because you have included a popular search term in your title. Although your item may not be the same brand there is nothing wrong with mentioning other brand names in your description, but you should include the word (not).

If you are looking to become a buyer with online auction sites the best way to make some nice buys are to search for misspelled auction items that may not have as many bids. You can also use software programs called snipe software that will bid at the very end of an online auction and win the item for you at the lowest possible price.

Online auction sites are a fun and often profitable place to visit. If you have not yet discovered this fascinating world on the internet you should take some time to do the research into it and enjoy the many benefits that online auction sites have to offer.

Traffic Building - Classified Ads II

Of course, you have to isolate each individual ezine traffic source for this to be effective. Why not just advertise in one ezine at a time? In that case, you would eventually determine which are better than others, but at the cost of time. By advertising in multiple ezines at one time, you can get faster results, so you can begin to regularly advertise in the ezine(s) that produces the best results.

Probably more important than that is for you to be able to immediately see the difference between each ezine source. For example, if you only advertise in one at a time, your first two ads might be extremely effective, and you will gain a false sense of confidence in the effectiveness of ezine ads. On the other hand, your first few ezine ads could be complete losses, and you would then get a false sense of aversion to ezine advertising.

The bottom line is, if you select a budget, and then spread out several ezine ads, then you can get a realistic picture of what ezine advertising can and cannot do for you.

So how do you actually do the advertising?

With most ezines, you are going to have several choices of ads. You can run classified ads in the ezine, which is generally a 3-5 line ad, in a list of other ads from other people. You can purchase a 'sponsor' or 'position' ad, which generally gives you a specified number of lines on a specific portion of the email itself. You can also purchase 'solo' ads – which are generally your ad alone in the email.

What is Ad Tracking?

Let's put it this way:

Online marketing consists of a lot of email messages and
autoresponders, and experienced marketers will tell you
that Ad Tracking is the single most important tool you
can have
.

Every time you send an email message to your safelists or
your mailing list, you will probably have an URL link for
people to click on, right? And how do you know if people
are actually clicking on them?

With an Ad Tracker, you actually put another URL link
in the place of your actual link, one that is connected
to an Ad Tracking service.

For example, here are two seemingly different links:

http://wealthvision2020.ws

http://adtrack.trafficwave.net/t.pl/21764/110699

On the surface, they are different, but both actually go to
the same website, wealthvision2020.ws
One is called the actual link, the other is called the
re-direct link.

Every time someone clicks on the actual link, I do
not know about it. But every time someone clicks on the
re-direct link, my Ad Tracker makes a note of it.
That means I will have a better idea of how effective my
ads really are.

The best way to effectively use an Ad Tracker is to have
two campaigns for the same product or website. That way,
you will be able to compare your ads and improve your
marketing.

You can have an adtracker for each and every ad you send
out. It is well worth the few minutes it takes to set up the
adtrackers, and could translate to improved ad campaigns,
better results and more sales.

The more you track your ads, the better you will get at
writing promotional messages. For more tips and training
on email marketing, consult my Home Business Blog below.

Cheers,

Robert Choi

Why Following Your Passion Could Be The Worst Idea Ever

''Follow your passion, and the money will come.''

How many times have you heard that phrase? I heard it so many times in my life, that it has almost become a truism! Thankfully I have resisted the temptation to believe that is 100% true, unlike many others who have believed in it and failed miserably.

So it is true? Follow your passion and you will be rich?

It is possible if your passion complies with what is profitable and viable, and it is what people are interested in, have money, and will pay for it. There are many examples of people who follow their passions and become rich: sports stars, rock singers and Bill Gates, just to name a few.

There are just as many examples who have hit a profitable idea and hit it rich: Jeff Bezos (Amazon), Pierre Omidyar (eBay) and many others.

Entrepreneurs who follow their passion have a strength: they love what they do very much, but it can be their biggest weakness. Their passion blinds them to making logical decisions for their business. If the business fails, such entrepreneurs also struggle for new ideas cause they choose to follow what they love to do, rather than what is in demand and what is profitable.

So my advice is: Find out what people want to buy, and make yourself an expert in that niche. The only possible outcome is that your business will be more profitable in the long run. Not only that, you may gain a few new hobbies in your life!

Vital Tips For Successful Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization is the art and science of making web pages appear attractive to the search engines. The better optimized a website is, the higher the ranking it will receive from a search engines web crawlers, the higher its ranking the more traffic your website will have, the more traffic your website has the more profit your website will generate. The key is good internet search engine optimization.

Why is having a receiving a high ranking so important to the future success of your online business? Studies have shown that consumers seldom look at websites that do not rank a spot on of the first two pages the search engines displays. Websites that receive a ranking that places them on the third page (or any other pages after that) see a significantly lower amount of traffic at their websites then one that is ranked on the second page. There is even a staggering difference between the first and second page. In the world of e-commerce ranking and strong search engine optimization is everything.

At first search engine optimization may feel like trying to rappel down the Grand Canyon, a huge scary world full of big words like web crawlers, PageRank, Meta tags, and algorithms. You have never heard of any of these things. A quick internet search of the world algorithm does not help; all you got was a printout of strange symbols and numbers arranged in complex algebraic equations.

Sit back, take a deep breath, and try to relax. Search engine optimization is a lot simpler then you might think. First things first.

Algorithms really are every bit as complex as they look. Simply defined they are a finite set of carefully defined instructions. Most, if not all, computer programs are designed with strict algorithms.

PageRank is simply the program Google designed to search, index, and rank it registered webpage's. PageRank operates on a link analysis algorithm. PageRank is credited for Google incredible success.

Web crawlers are tools search engines use to browse the World Wide Web in a methodical, automated manner. When web crawlers are browsing websites they are looking for algorithms.

Meta tags are special HTML tags that provide information to about a web page. Meta tags are written directly into the title tag and are only visible to the search engine.

The reality of search engine optimization is that you can start to optimize your website without any knowledge at all of the technical stuff involved in search engine optimization. Simply stated the very first step in designing a website that is going to be well ranked by the search engines is to create a content rich site. What this means is that you must cram as much information about your product into your website as you possibly can.

The third step to search engine optimization is to fill your site with keywords that will attract the web crawler's attention. The final step in a wonderfully optimized website is to submit it to the search engine that will compliment it.

How Do $7 Reports Stack Up Against High-Priced Information Products?

Information has been viewed as a commodity that can be sold for quite high prices. But, are these high prices actually leading to long-term profits? Or, can the higher volume sales of low-priced information products bring about greater profits for your infopreneur business?

The Rise Of The Big Buck Launches

During the Fall of 2006, extremely high-prices were being introduced to the market in mega-launches - one after the other. The myth being passed around in Internet marketing circles was that you should charge as much as the market would bear.

As e-books climbed in price from $37 to $67, and in some cases up to $97, it became painfully evident that what the market could bear was enough to seriously cripple many a hapless buyer. Suddenly, important information was priced out of the reach of the ordinary person. For those living in countries with lower monthly incomes, these greedy pricing practices were dashing the hopes of those who really needed good information.

High Prices Can Hurt Your Long-Term Goals

And, the high prices weren't just hurting customers. They were also affecting the long-term prospects of many new marketers. They were trying to follow in the footsteps of the big-buck gurus, by selling e-books and videos for inflated prices. What they hadn't taken into consideration was the reduced volume of sales that resulted from high prices.

Less people buying meant less qualified subscribers to mailing lists. Sure, the marketers could still pump out free reports to build their lists, but a non-responsive list built of freebie-seekers couldn't compare to a list of high-quality subscribers who had already spent money. Those who opted in to lists merely to get their hands on a free e-book, were not so likely to convert to actual buyers.

The Coming Of The $7 Report

Then, in Spring of 2007, came the $7 Secrets script that led to the creation of quality reports that sold for only $7. Suddenly, marketers could create a quality report, sell it for a reasonable price, and get their products into the hands of many prospective customers. Selling a $7 report is a lot easier than trying to flog a $67 e-book -- and you'll sell a lot more.

Making Money From Volume Sales

With a $7 report, instead of low-volume high-dollar sales, you're going to switch to less cash per sale and a lot more sales. Just like McDonald's, you're now benefiting from the profits of sheer volume of sales. And you know how many millions of dollars they make off the sales of a $3.49 hamburger.

Breaking Down The Barriers To A Sale

Prospects who don't know you from Adam are much more willing to take a chance on your products -- when they're only risking $7. And, if you provide a high-quality report, you can showcase your abilities and expertise to a large, paying audience. Not a bunch of freebie-seekers, but a highly-qualified group of proven buyers who can be converted to customers of your higher-priced information products.

Getting More Back-End Sales

Of course, on their first purchase with you they are only spending $7, but they are testing the waters. Once they see that you provide valuable information and high-quality materials, they'll come back and buy e-books, audio interviews, video tutorials, and full home study courses.

You'll find that a good number of your $7 report buyers become steady customers -- snapping up each new product you release to your list. This is how you create long-term profits in your infopreneur business.

Much Easier To Create

A $7 report only needs to cover one subject. By teaching one technique in full detail, or thoroughly solving one problem, you'll have created a $7 report that easily meets the expectations of your buyers. Simply adding a few extras can leave your customers with the warm satisfaction of having bought a product that truly over-delivers.

You can create a high quality report -- one which pleases your readers and builds your good reputation -- in an afternoon. You're not writing a book.

Can $7 Reports Build Your Infopreneur Business?

With a solid plan in place to market back-end products to the list you build, $7 reports can be a powerful technique for growing your business by bringing in many qualified paying customers. A mailing list built with these reports will bring you increased profits.

How To Get More Traffic from Safelists

In this article I am going to show You a way to get more
traffic from safelists easily. Email Marketing in Safelists
can give You much better results than many marketers think,
because most marketers are not doing it right.

The easiest way of getting more traffic from safelists is
to send to more lists than You are doing now. You can easily
achieve this by using a safelist submitter and post to 100s
of lists in no time at all.

But there is more to it than just the number of mails send.
you should also make sure that You increase the number of
mails that will actually be delivered.

A lot of Your mails will end up in other peoples Junk-Mail
folders and will never be read. If You check Your mail for
words and phrases that could trigger the SPAM filters You
can dramatically increase the number of mails that people
will see in their inboxes.

You should also try to submit very often. Do not post to
200 lists once a day if You have control over this. Web
Based Safelist Submitters will not let You influence this.
Post to 20 list ten times a day instead. Why? I`ll tell You.

Most Inboxes show the mails in order of the date received,
the newest mails first. If you post often then Your Chances
are higher to have an ad on top of the inbox at all times.
If You post to all lists at once then only few people will
have multiple versions of your ad in their inbox. This trick
works best on safelist networks where Your readers are likely
to be a member of several of the list You send to.

Personalize Your Mail whenever this is possible. Putting the
recipients Name in the subject line will lead to far better
open rate of your mails. You should also use personalization
in Your ad copy, because people are much more likely to reply
to mails that are addressed solely to them and not to a group
of people ( like "Dear Marketers" "Dear Webmaster" ).

These tactics are very easy to implement. Nevertheless they
will increase Your Results and You will get more traffic from
safelists. Some of these strategies will not work in every
safelist ( like personalization ) but is important to use as
many of them as possible for best results.

Apply these marketing techniques to Your safelist marketing and
you will se better results and more traffic from safelists.

B2B Online Marketing and Personalized Search

We've been talking about personalized search for quite some time. Recently this topic is again becoming a hot topic in our industry. The past couple of weeks, Gord Hotchkiss has provided some food for thought (and great insight) on personalized search over at his Out of My Gord blog. We've been looking at how personalized search will affect individuals but we haven't really looked at how personalized search will affect users on an enterprise level. Specifically B2B marketers and how personalized search will affect their online marketing efforts.

Here's what I think personalized search will mean for B2B sites and online marketers in the online world.

B2B sites will become early adopters will utilize other forms of online promotion – focus will be spent on marketing avenues such as blogs, podcasts and widgets. While the main engines will shift towards personalized and unique search results for users, it doesn't mean that blog search engines, podcast search engines will follow suit. B2B online marketers will look to things such as blog search engines such as Sphere and the use of personalized branded widgets for users to install on their own sites, blogs or desktop.

B2B sites will offer personalized search pages on their own sites – B2B sites will follow the lead of the search engines and provide users with a personalized page on their own sites. When users come to these B2B sites, the will be able to login to their own personalized site page where their most recent articles read, demos viewed, podcasts viewed etc will appear.

B2B marketers will look to other forms of search – mobile search continues to become increasingly popular. B2B marketers will look to non-traditional search avenues to promote their sites.

B2B Marketers will be forced to create updated and relevant content based on their solution offering. While this is not a new practice, the reason the search engines are moving towards personalized search is to provide the most relevant results when a user performs a query. By creating content that is useful and relevant, if your site page is the most relevant and authoritative on a given topic, then you should be found in the personalized results in some manner. This could be an image, a hyperlink, a blog post, a news story, an audio podcast, a video clip, a video podcast etc.

Personalized search is not necessarily a bad thing for B2B marketers, it just makes them more accountable. Gone are the days of optimization tactics and manipulating links to obtain rankings. A number one ranking in Google will prove somewhat useless as there will no longer be a universal search results page. Each user will receive a somewhat unique page based on what is the most relevant (or what the engines deem most relevant based on past activity) to that user. B2B marketers will have to become more creative and realize that the consumers are more in control. The increase and shift towards consumer initiated marketing will become an integral part of the relationship of B2B marketers and their potential consumers. Personalized search just means that B2B marketers will need to listen to their clients more than ever in the past. The consumer will be driving the ship with B2B marketers acting as first mates.

6 Ideas for Viralizing Your Marketing Efforts

The term "Viral Marketing" may sound like a method of distributing illness through your advertisements, but I assure you it is nothing like that... Viral advertising is actually just a way to distribute your ad to the masses in such a manner that they end up (a lot of times unknowingly) advertising for you. It's this "dispersive" effect that occurs which earned this advertising method its Viral name.

Just to present a clearer picture, here are 6 ways in which you could take advantage of Viral Marketing.

1. Purchase the branding rights to a viral E-book. Allow people to give away your free E-book to their visitors. Then, their visitors will also give it away. This will just continue to spread your ad all over the Internet.

2. If you have the ability to set up a forum or other bulletin board, you really have a great tool. Allow people to use your online discussion board for their own website. Some people don't have one. Just include your banner ad at the top of the board.

3. Do you have a knack for web design? Create some templates, graphics, etc. and upload them to your site. Then, allow people to give away your free web design graphics, fonts, templates, etc. Just include your ad on them or require people to link directly to your web site. Make sure that you include a link back to your site in the copyright notice and require them to keep your copyright notice in tact.

4. Write an E-book. Allow people to place an advertisement in your free E-book if, in exchange, they give away the E-book to their web visitors or E-zine subscribers.

5. Write articles that pertain to your product or service. Allow people to reprint your articles on their website, in their E-zine, newsletter, magazine or E-books. Include your resource box and the option for article reprints at the bottom of each article.

6. You can easily find products on the Internet that will sell you a license allowing you to distribute the product free of charge to other people. Look for those products that provide "branding rights". That is where you can include your own name, website, and contact information.
