Work at Home Mom Dreams

Children change you... your thoughts, your relationships, your identity. Family now comes first.

Are you a working mom who dreams of staying at home with your children?

Your children are little for such a short time, then it's gone forever. You yearn to leave the office and day care scene behind and stay with your children.

For many women, that's just not an option, though. The mother's income is needed to support the family. So how about working at home?

Paid work at home brings to mind images of stuffing envelopes, filling out forms, and clerical work... soul-destroying jobs whose chief requirement is "no personality or brain required."

Some other options...

  • In-home day care

  • Teaching music lessons

  • Making crafts

  • Selling cosmetics

But the money is limited and the work exhausting. Plus no flexibility, no growth in income, and little creativity or passion.

Today, with the availability of the Internet, many moms embrace the idea of building a business on-line.

The Internet is already a big part of our lives. We turn to it for information, banking, and communication with friends and family.

An on-line business is affordable, flexible, and convenient.

But where to start? How do you avoid the scams, and wasting your money and time?

Look for a business that is established. Look for one that doesn't make big promises of earning thousands overnight. Every business takes work, whether on line or off.

Also consider what technical knowledge you need to have. Will you be required to write HTML or javascript, set up a database, or other skills that take considerable time to learn first?

What support is there for an Internet business you might be considering? Is there "service after the sale?"

Once these considerations are taken care of, decide what you can contribute to the web. What is your passion, what can you add?

Provide valuable information on a web site you create and draw in visitors to your site. Then you can monetize that information.

Now your business is born, a business where you are in control.

Keep in mind that this will be work, but you won't have a boss telling you when and where to work. You schedule your work around your family.

An important key to success--start now! It takes a while to build a solid business. While the Internet makes everything seem instantaneous, you need time to build a quality business and attract visitors to it.

Lastly, persistence. Don't give up too soon. You won't make a thousand dollars a week overnight and your site won't be ranked number one on Google the day after you put up the home page.
